Rubens Barrichello

Amongst the well renowned names of Formula One drivers is that of the Brazilian racer from Italian decent Rubens Barrichello. The speedster confesses he grew u idolizing the likes of Ayrton Senna which eventually led him to develop his skills and become a member of the Honda team. There is something very special about Barrichello that sets him apart from the rest of the racers in the game today. That is the fact that he is the only racer who has had the honor to race with Alain Prost and Ayrton Senna which means he is the only remaining link to that legendry era of Formula One racers.

Barichello is himself a living legend when it comes to the game. He is the fifth top scorer on the Driver’s points total in the history of Formula One racing. He has had the privilege of being Micheal Schumacher’s teammate while his five year run with Ferrari from 2000 to 2005. After the retirement off Schumacher in 2006 Barichello became the oldest living guru to be participating in the sport. This honor was further taken up a notch as at the 2008 Turkish Grand Prix he became the most experienced driver in the history of the sport.

Over the years Barichello has had a very colorful career which is tainted with many thrills and spills. He won five championships in his early years of carting. After which he secured considerable wins in Formula Three racing right from his first year in the competition. The year 1993 saw Barichello finishing off a successful year as a rookie in Formula One racing. He had a roller coaster ride from `993 to 1996 with the Jordan team after which he joined the Stewart Grand Prix in 1997. His performance slowly but steadily progressed for the next three years with the team. In the year 2000 he secured his first ever Grand Prix victory with Ferrari. He managed to stay with the team for five years which was the highlight era of his career. Since 2006 he has been racing with the Honda team making a mark with his mountain of experience in the sport.
